We are looking for an experienced and passionate Merchandiser to join our Team for a fixed 3-4 month period starting as soon as possible.
You will be an expert in option and range planning, currently managing your own department OTB with a proven track record of delivering both sales and profit growth. An ability to quickly familiarise yourself with the company and department will be key as we are looking for someone who can really hit the ground running and step straight into this role. Reporting into the Head of Merchandising you will be planning your department from strategy through to delivery with your Buyer, supported by your fantastic team.

Your SB Journey:
- Build department strategy alongside Buyer and Designer to drive growth and deliver business targets
- Fully plan and trade own department supported by Assistant Merchandiser and Allocator
- Analyse key weekly trade figures and present to business
- Range building and option planning, taking into account channel specific needs
- Carry out detailed analysis of current and past performance to maximise commercial opportunities
- Manage department and category WSSI’s, forecasting sales in season and controlling stock levels
- Manage department OTB, in season trading, identify risks and opportunities
- Manage dept critical path with Buyer working closely with suppliers to ensure all product is delivered on time
- Plan and trade continuity product working directly with suppliers to ensure optimum stock levels
- Managing delivery schedule and stock intake into business
- Plan and manage end of season MD and in season promotions
- Manage flow of intake into warehouse, providing forecasts for Logistics and WH team
- Provide regular & ad-hoc analysis to the business at product/category/channel level
- Build collaborative relationships across all departments including Buying, Design, Garment Tech, Retail, Ecommerce, VM, Logistics, and Marketing teams
Must Haves
Must Haves
- At least 5 years’ experience in a head office Merchandising team, currently operating at Merchandiser level.
- An analytical and questioning mentality with excellent numerical and IT skills including advanced level Excel.
- Detail oriented, highly organised, able to prioritise heavy workloads and thrive in a busy environment.
- The ability to develop strategic direction but also a trader who can react in the moment.
- An awareness of current trends and knowledge of the retail industry
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience of confidently presenting in meetings.
- Proactive and positive approach to problem solving
- A dynamic team player with great interpersonal skills
