Junior Copywriter

Are you bordering on obsessive about writing compelling, consumer-focused content and have a love for all things wellness? Can you write precise and creative copy to tight deadlines? Then we may have the job for you!

Reporting to the Editor, you will be responsible for writing on-brand copy for global marketing materials, including copy for our website, social media, press releases, emails, product copy and blogs.

The successful candidate will have excellent writing and sub-editing skills, with at least two years’ experience in an editorial role.

In this role you will be:

  • Supporting the Editor to ensure a consistent tone of voice across all areas of the business, ensuring all communications are brand-enhancing and consumer-focused.
  • Writing copy across all different channels including website, social media, press releases, emails, product copy and blogs.
  • Having a strong sense of commercial, brand and technical awareness, whilst keeping up to date with current trends.
  • Working closely with the web team to ensure all content is on brand and up to date including home pages, banners and boxes, editorial features, community and brand areas of site.
  • Assisting the press team with press releases and lookbook copy.
  • Working alongside the Editor to create content for the Sweaty Betty blog, with a particular focus on SEO friendly content.
  • Writing engaging and accurate product descriptions and product tags that are in line with the Sweaty Betty tone of voice.

Must Haves

  • Similar experience of at least 2 years, working within a digital lifestyle or retail brand or magazine writing marketing copy and other relevant support materials.
  • A story teller with great brand awareness and a very British sense of humour.
  • Excellent writing, subbing and editing skills.
  • An ability to manage a heavy workload. The nature of the role involves working closely with various stakeholders across the business, so a confident, approachable and considerate character is an essential.
  • A meticulous eye for detail and a strong understanding of grammar and punctuation are necessities, alongside the ability to edit your own work.
  • PC literate with working knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft Office.
