IT Infrastructure Engineer

Your Journey

This newly developed role will report in to the VP of IT and be part of the wider team of 9. You will be the most senior Infrastructure specialist in-house and will be responsible for upgrading, supporting and maintaining Sweaty Betty’s infrastructure. We are on an exciting journey to make Sweaty Betty mobile and this role will be key with migrating legacy systems into cloud-based solutions. Gathering detailed IT business requirements so that we can develop our investments in key systems whilst maintaining a customer focused, positive, people-oriented, and highly organised approach, you will be using your experience to help identify areas where Sweaty Betty can improve and secure its IT architectural platforms. Working closely with external partners as well as members of the team across all levels of the business, you will be passionate about ensuring the business is always online and supported.

Your SB Journey will include:

  • Work with management teams, identify training requirements within the IT systems and support the business by ensuring the appropriate skills are available
  • Delivery of customer-focussed solutions
  • Resolve user problems & issues in a timely manner according to business priorities
  • Act as business contact, liaising with our third parties to solve issues with the timely running and accuracy of the data within the systems
  • Develop new ways of working for the system to improve the efficiency of the system and business
  • Ability to be a technical lead on infrastructure projects, from planning through to delivery
  • Travelling to regional stores
  • A focus on remote and on-premise infrastructure support and administration

Responsibilities include:

  • 1st-3rd level Incident and Problem Management (Reactive and Proactive)
  • Working closely with Support Manager and 2nd line team to resolve incidents
  • Responding to any faults which require an on-site presence or lengthy investigation (problems) 
  • Proactively identifying operational problems and implementing their resolve
  • Proactively identifying and implementing an improved Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning
  • Providing technical expertise
  • Planning of maintenance and installation work with planned updates
  • Maintaining accurate operational documentation on all elements of the Infrastructure and Infrastructure systems
  • Identifying and escalating infrastructure improvements to the VP of IT
  • Providing out-of-hours support when is required

Must Haves

  • Cloud computing O365, Azure /AWS
  • Citrix XenApp / XenServer
  • VMware / Hyper-V Cluster
  • Windows Servers (min 2012)
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Active Directory (FSMO, GPO, DNS, etc)
  • Networking LAN / WAN
  • Knowledge of switching & routing, wireless, security, firewalls, VLAN’s and VoIP.
  • Microsoft SQL, SharePoint (Desirable)
  • Storage and Backup Technologies (SAN, NAS, iSCSI)
  • Backup/Disaster Recovery
  • Phone Systems (Avaya)
  • Security products including AV, FW, End point security (Sonicwall’s)
  • Technical documentation
