Sweaty Betty is looking for a Maternity Cover Store Designer. The design of our Boutiques define the Sweaty Betty lifestyle. They look and feel premium and provide a unique, lasting experience to anyone who visits. This position will be responsible for delivering creative fit outs for new store openings in the UK, as well as looking after UK re-fits and ad hoc store design projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to our Senior Store Designer, 2017 sees more Global expansion for Sweaty Betty. You are instrumental for this growth and this role will see you communicating with all levels of the business, both in the UK and US. You will be responsible for the Store Design process from site survey to the grand opening for new stores. Specific responsibilities will include:
- Project management of store design process to include build, budget and sourcing furniture
- Develop design plans, elevations and fixture drawings
- Survey buildings & design floor layout with an awareness of H&S requirements
- Put together initial mood boards
- Develop design plans and elevations
- Timely creation of all drawing packs
- Compile and submit planning applications with knowledge of Listed Building Consent
- Submitting Building Control applications
- Experience with renovating of existing buildings and knowledge of construction
- Liaise between colleagues and external contractors to ensure clarity of communication and consistency of interpretation
- Understand the particular requirements of a Sweaty Betty store to present the product beautifully with clear navigation and operational efficiency
- Work closely with people across the business especially - the Creative Director and CEO on design, the Retail Director on store layout, the Operations Team on project management, the VM Manager on dressing the store, the Head of Product on merchandising priorities, the Contractor on the build
- Working with Operations Team on maintenance of existing stores
- Management of Design budget
Must Haves
- 3 years in store design experience either agency or in-house
- Relevant technical qualifications as a designer or architect
- Experience in Retail Project Management including new store openings
- Strong knowledge of retail design methods

Your creative sensibilities and taste levels are aligned with the Sweaty Betty lifestyle and your inspiration is drawn from premium studios and spas. Your style has an international influence, paired with a passion in contemporary trends in architecture.
