Director of Business Infrastructure

Sweaty Betty was born in Notting Hill, London in 1998 after our founder Tamara spotted a gap in the activewear market for women who wanted to look good and work out. Teaming up with her husband Simon, they embarked on a mission to create beautiful clothes for women who lead active lifestyles. We now have over 60 shops from London to San Francisco, filled with our signature bum-sculpting leggings, beautiful prints and studio to street pieces.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is an exciting, brand new leadership role will be overseeing a growing team of 6 and reporting to our CFO. The role has responsibility for defining and then implementing an IT, Logistics and Operations strategies to support ambitious growth plans and continuing to deliver exceptional operational support. Success will be leading the business infrastructure and operations as it continues rapid and international growth, and a focus that puts technology at the centre of everything we do.

Your journey will include:

IT

  • Overall responsibility for delivering a robust, scalable IT infrastructure (E-Commerce, Retail and backend systems) to support the business’s growth ambitions
  • Manage and develop the VP (Head of), IT and team
  • Define and lead E-Commerce and IT development plans to ensure efficient delivery of key business objectives and strategies
  • Manage multiple 3rd party IT providers, agencies and integrations including outsourced support
  • Responsible for all telecom, broadband and communication lines across the Estate
  • Overall responsibility for Disaster Recovery and IT security and GDPR.

Logistics

  • Overall responsibility for warehousing and distribution of Sweaty Betty’s products in the UK, US and worldwide
  • Manage and develop the Senior Manager logistics and team
  • Define and implement a warehousing & logistics strategy for the US that balances the customer experience with cost
  • Direction and management of outsourced 3PL providers in the UK
  • Identify best practice and conduct regular review of existing processes, implementing and developing operational improvements internally and with 3PLs.
  • Manage and tender carrier, freight forwarder and broker relationships, service levels and costs
  • Define and lead a programme of duty reviews to minimise all costs and maximise duty recovery

Operational Support

  • Overall responsibility for operational management of estates across UK and US, including general maintenance, refits and new store openings.
  • Manage and support the Senior Operations Manager and team to drive a service culture in a rapidly changing business
  • Overall accountability for Health & Safety across all locations
  • Overall accountability for operational and capital expenditure across IT, Logistics and Operations.

Must Haves

  • Experience working at a Director/ SVP level encompassing IT, Logistics and Operations within an international multi-channel consumer business
  • Experience of leading IT infrastructure roadmaps and business initiatives such as Omni channel transformation programmes with excellent governance
  • Experience with POS and Retail systems such as Cegid, Salesforce and eCommerce applications
  • Experience in running multi-channel DC and logistics networks
  • Experience in working with 3PL and able to get the best from partners
  • Retail / wholesale / digital experience
  • Property management across a 60+ office/retail estate
